Hi friends!

We took the family to Golden Ears this weekend for camping. Before the park entrance, there was a 30-minute lineup of barely-moving cars. We inched forward, mentally preparing for the full passport-control experience. When we finally got to the front? A couple of park attendants cheerfully asked if we had a reservation. We said yes. No scan. No QR code.

I think this is the essence of being Canadian: a high-trust society that absolutely loves to line up. 🇨🇦

Anyway, there's a lot happening this week.

Here’s what’s inside this issue:

🏊 Summer swim & skate registration — dates are locked in and they fill in minutes, not hours.

Free World Cup watch parties — one of them is right in your backyard (hi, Hillcrest).

🎭 Kitsilano Showboat opens tomorrow — 91 years of free summer nights, plus a reader memory that might make you tear up a little.

Let's get into it. 👇🏼
