Hi friends!

We have this thing where once a week we order sushi takeout. And most weeks that means TonTon on Cambie. Fresh, friendly, and my 5-year-old has reached the stage where she walks in alone, pays, and carries the bag out to us. Honestly one of my favourite parts of the week.

So a few weeks ago I walked in behind her and had a very different kind of conversation with Jiwon, the manager. The whole pitch. The newsletter, the families, the plan. He liked it enough to take it to the owner.

We got a yes. 🍣

That's three local businesses in two weeks. I have more meetings booked this month, and honestly the response has been warmer than I expected. People want to do this. The pitch is the easy part. The hard part is growing this community big enough for the perks to keep coming — more on that right after “what’s inside this issue”.

Here’s what’s inside this issue:

🪐 Your kid can walk among planets — the Space Centre's new AR experience is unlike anything else in town

🔬 Free science festival at UBC this Saturday — real experiments, real scientists

⛸️ Skating lesson registration opens May 14 — treat it like concert tickets

🏛️ Pay-what-you-can museum day on the long weekend — your Victoria Day plan, sorted

Let's get into it. 👇🏼
